Job Description
The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) for the DISA/CESO SAP ITSS program supports the Program Manager in planning and executing a complex IT and cybersecurity services contract. This role focuses on day-to-day coordination of Agile delivery, cost, schedule, and risk, and serves as an alternate point of contact for DISA/CESO stakeholders. The DPM helps ensure successful delivery against contract requirements and adherence to established program management processes, while growing toward greater ownership over time.
Core Responsibilities
Program Execution & Agile Delivery
Support daily program operations, coordinating work across Agile teams and tracking completion of tasks, user stories, and Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
Help maintain schedules, backlogs, and action item logs under the direction of the Program Manager and in coordination with Scrum/Agile leads.
Make day-to-day execution decisions (e.g., task prioritization within a sprint, routing of issues, sequencing of actions) within approved plans and escalate items with broader impact to program leadership.
Collect status from technical and functional leads, consolidate inputs into clear updates, and highlight blockers, dependencies, and risks.
Manage the team to develop innovative solutions and pursue new and on contract growth opportunities based on program and customer priorities.
Manage work authorizations, approve timecards, track charging time against plan.
Manage the growth, performance and professional development of staff.
Cost, Schedule, and Reporting Support
- Assist program finance account managers by gathering actuals, updating forecasts, and supporting Estimates at Completion (EACs).
- Help prepare cost and schedule performance reports, including basic variance analysis and tracking of agreed corrective actions.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement
- Prepare and present portions of internal and external briefings, dashboards, and status reports for program and customer reviews.
- Capture customer feedback and evolving priorities and ensure they are documented and routed to the appropriate Agile teams and leads.
Technical and Team Coordination
- Coordinate work across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, and application support teams to align schedules and dependencies.
- Track technical action items through completion, ensuring owners, due dates, and outcomes are clearly documented.
Risk, Issue, and Opportunity Management
- Maintain risk, issue, and opportunity registers by recording new items, updating status, and tracking mitigation activities.
- Support regular risk and issue reviews by preparing summaries, metrics, and follow-up actions.
Staff and Subcontractor Coordination
- Assist with staffing actions such as onboarding, access coordination, and updates to staffing rosters and org charts.
- Support routine coordination with subcontractor leads, including tracking deliverables and performance concerns.
Governance, Compliance & Data Calls
- Follow and help enforce program management processes, configuration management, and change control procedures.
- Support responses to internal and external data calls and reviews, including those related to contract compliance and security expectations.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience as a project manager, task lead, or deputy/assistant PM on IT or cybersecurity contracts.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Practical experience supporting Agile or hybrid Agile programs (e.g., working with backlogs, sprints, and iterative delivery).
- Familiarity with basic financial and program management concepts (budgets, forecasts, EACs, schedule and variance tracking).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple technical and functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CAPM, PMP, SAFe, CSM, or ITIL.
- Experience supporting DISA, CESO, or other DoD cyber/IT organizations.
- Experience with common program and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira/Confluence, ITSM platforms).

Pay Range:
Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
