Job Description
Design Assistant | Lansdale, PA Were hiring on behalf of our client, a well-established residential remodeling and construction firm known for thoughtful design, strong collaboration, and a genuinely positive team environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a Design Assistant who enjoys supporting a team of Designers and advancing projects. The Design Assistant supports the design team by managing key operational tasks, including CAD documentation, material research and procurement, and project coordination. This role ensures the design process runs smoothly by maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring timely procurement, and organizing project preparation. This role is designed as a growth-track position with the opportunity to advance into an Interior Designer role based on performance, technical development, and demonstrated project readiness. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in building a long-term career within residential design and remodeling.Duties & Responsibilities CAD Documentation
- Enter and maintain As-Built conditions in the CAD system with accuracy and consistency.
- Update project drawings as needed to reflect current design decisions.
- Organize and maintain digital project files in accordance with company standards.
Material Research & Procurement
- Research materials and finishes based on project requirements and designer direction.
- Coordinate selection uploads and manage pricing for all items excluding cabinets.
- Place orders and track delivery status to ensure timely project preparation.
- Coordinate project sample procurement and maintain an organized sample library.
Project Support
- Assist project and senior designers with preparation tasks that keep projects on schedule.
- Attend job site visits and client meetings as needed to gather information and support the design process.
- Contribute to team discussions and bring ideas to the table.
Other
- Maintain clear communication with the design team on project status, challenges, and opportunities.
- Actively pursue ongoing learning and professional development through training, research, and practical application.
- Perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Interior Design or Architecture preferred.
- Preferred 1 year of experience in the interior design or construction industry, or an applicable degree.
- Basic working knowledge of CAD software Chief Architect, 20/20, or Revit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Valid drivers license and personal vehicle for travel to client meetings and job sites.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand building construction materials and methods.
- Knowledge of basic building code requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills; able to interact professionally with clients and team members.
