Job Description

You will perform technical support for development engineering activities, including design, testing, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic and electro‑mechanical systems, prototype circuitry, and specialized test equipment. Apply hands‑on skills to analog, digital, and video circuits and logic systems, working from schematics, diagrams, and written or verbal instructions to perform routine testing, troubleshooting, prototype builds, and environmental testing. Conduct operational tests and fault isolation to component level to verify conformance with design specifications, collect and documents test data, and use standard diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, VOMs/DVMs, and signal generators. Guidance is available from superiors for more complex tasks. You will report to the Team Lead, Product Quality and work onsite in Mequon, WI.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing returned parts and products to determine the root cause of the failure mode as provided by the customer. Providing deliverables (i.e.: RCFA Reports, Warranty Analysis) and making sure to link/feedback the customer concerns with the Product Quality and Engineering teams.
  • Working from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform Design Verification (DV) and Product Validation (PV)
  • Work with / take care of / maintain the equipment in the lab.
  • Determine and request necessary equipment to perform the analysis. Under direction of the Project and Product Quality Engineers, this position will support the different BUs as: Issue analysis reports for troubleshooting/test results or comparisons to similar designs and make recommendations for corrective action
  • Execute tests for Design Verification or/and Product Validation, to make disposition, based in performance of components and/or products to specifications;
  • Perform data analysis using Statistical Methodology, including MINITAB tools;
  • Recommend enhancements to the processes when practices deviate from documented procedures
  • Make calibrated equipment available for all required tests, including applying MSA methodology as necessary.
  • Maintain the 5S in the job environment.
  • Observe all the safety measures on the job.

The Essentials- You Will Have:

  • High School Diploma/GED or 2 years of verified related experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred- You Might Also Have:

  • Associate degree in Electronic Engineering.
  • 2 years of experience working with electronic products and/or motors as a part of a quality system, design or support function.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques is required, along with quality systems measurement techniques (SPC, Pareto analysis, etc.).
  • Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations, including state/federal laws, ISO9001, and ISO14001. Additionally, adhere to Rockwell Automation policies and procedures. Work cooperatively with all external and internal customers.
