Job Description
Job Title: Design Drafter Location: Orlando, FL (On-site) Position Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled Design Drafter with 2-5 years of experience and strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor. This role will involve creating and revising detailed technical drawings and 3D models to support engineering projects across various disciplines. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate effectively with engineering teams. Key Responsibilities: Develop and revise 3D models and technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor, ensuring they meet all project requirements. Collaborate with engineers across disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and structural, to accurately interpret and incorporate redline markups. Conduct site visits as needed to gather measurements and verify project specifications. Organize and manage CAD files to ensure easy access and version control for ongoing projects. Prepare and maintain bills of materials, as well as provide time estimates for drafting tasks. Qualifications: 2-5 years of experience as a CAD Drafter, with a focus on mechanical and structural drafting. Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor; experience with additional CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is advantageous. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in drafting for engineering and manufacturing. Strong attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve design challenges. Effective communication skills for collaboration with project teams. Education and Certifications: Associates degree in CAD Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related field required; Bachelors degree preferred. Relevant CAD certification or Autodesk Inventor certification is a plus. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with document management systems for CAD files. Understanding of manufacturing processes and standards related to mechanical and structural design. Work Environment: This is an on-site role in Orlando, FL, with potential for occasional site visits to gather measurements and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure project accuracy and feasibility.
