Job Title: Design Engineer 4 Location: Hodges, SC 29653 Duration: 12 Months Position s Contributions to Work Group: - Design foundry tooling in Creo software using standards in place and best practices for No-bake molding process with the objective to improve quality and reduce lead time on tooling construction Reason/motivation for request: - Addition Typical Day or Week in the Role - RFQ tooling, Design New Pattern Tooling, resolve casting issues, Re-gate, Simulate, all other tasks as needed. Interaction with team: - Interact with managers on directions and priorities of workflow. - Interact with Tool designers and Engineers for tool build, process flow. - Interact with Pattern Makers for tool build direction. Team Structure - Managers, Foundry Tool Designer, Manufacturing Engineer, Programmer, Pattern Makers, Pattern Technicians. Work environment: - Foundry production setting. Cold in winter, Hot in Summer - Common office computer desk setting - Shop floor environment. Candidate Requirements Education & Experience Required: - Years of experience: 5 years of relevant experiences - Degree requirement: Associate or Bachelor. - Do you accept internships as job experience: No Top 3 Skills: - Foundry Engineer Experience. (Tools Quotation, Casting Scrap defects analysis & resolution, Foundry process knowledge, no-bake process, cold box process) - Foundry tooling Design Experience. (Pattern and core boxes, Complex modeling, intuitive knowledge of P/L, offsets, clearances, layout in tool build, no-bake process, cold box process) - Creo modeling and flow simulation analysis using SolidCast Additional Technical Skills (Required) - Strong CAD skills (Creo prefers). - Machining print reading and geometric tolerance understanding - Casting simulation experiences (SolidCast prefers) (Desired) - CNC milling knowledge Soft Skills (Required) - Able to work with and direct suppliers on Tooling Build Projects - Communicate and work well with all levels of the facility.
