Design Engineer

Institutional Casework, Inc. has an immediate opening in our Metal Division for Design Engineer. This position will be at our Union City location. We offer a competitive salary and a full range of benefits.

Job Title: Design Engineer

Work Location: Union City, TN.

Job Type: Full-time

Reports to: Director of Engineering - UC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret customer drawings, to prepare BOMs for project release to manufacturing
Read customers order entry system, WinCAT, to prepare BOM's for project release to manufacturing
Work with engineering manager or coordinator to schedule projects
Create and modify SW models to create products for drawings or WinCAT
Engage with manufacturing to design error free parts and understand how parts flow through the plant
Ability to work with engineers oversees, including scheduling, prioritizing, and per reviewing their work
Ability to manage your own projects from design, manufacturer, to assembly

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering
3D modeling experience, Solidworks preferred
Sheet metal experience, punching, laser, forming, welding, etc.
MRP experience, item master, bill of material, etc.
Experience with sheet metal laboratory casework a plus

Requirements:

Computer software knowledge including Microsoft office products
Excellent communication skills (phone, written, verbal)
Strong analytical, organizational, inter-personal, and detail-oriented skills and abilities
Demonstrated success in teamwork and continuous improvement
Strong commitment to excellence in customer service
Self-motivated with the ability to make judgement calls and work with little supervision

Minimum travel, may span weekends and or holidays
