Job Description

This Senior Design Engineer develops new firearms and accessories while driving improvements to existing products. The role delivers technical leadership through advanced engineering analysis, collaboration, and problem‑solving across the full product lifecycle.

Description

This Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Leading development of new firearms and related products to meet requirements and cost targets
  • Generating and checking drawings for GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and tolerance stack compliance
  • Completing complex analyses including FEA, motion, CFD, or heat transfer
  • Processing engineering change orders and maintaining accurate BOMs
  • Coordinating and reviewing testing, validating conclusions and documentation
  • Driving DFM efforts and collaborating with Manufacturing to meet cost and quality standards
  • Managing intellectual property activities such as patent searches and trade studies
  • Advancing continuous improvement efforts and sustaining 5S practices

Profile

A successful Design Engineer applicant will:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 7-10 years R&D engineering experience
  • Proficiency in advanced analysis tools such as FEA, motion, CFD, and heat transfer
  • Strong CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred) and PLM experience
  • Skilled in GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and tolerance stack analysis
  • Strong communication skills and ability to guide less‑experienced engineers
  • Practical experience with mechanical assembly and complex problem‑solving
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards preferred
