Job Description

Our client is a well-established engineering firm seeking a Protection/Design Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in control system design, ERP platforms, and client-facing communication. This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive compensation and the chance to work on complex, high-impact engineering projects.

Job Responsibilities-

Design and develop protection systems and control schematics using industry-standard tools and platforms.
Utilize ERP software to manage project data, documentation, and design workflows.
Develop detailed task-level engineering designs, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and control logic.
Collaborate directly with clients to define project scope, communicate technical solutions, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Design and specify hardware components including electrical devices, control cabinets, and related equipment.
Create and maintain accurate control schematics and system diagrams in accordance with project requirements.
Coordinate with panel shops and external vendors to ensure design specifications are met during fabrication and installation.

Job Requirements -

5-7 years of experience in protection engineering, control system design, or a closely related discipline.
Proficiency with ERP platforms and engineering design software.
Demonstrated ability to develop control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel designs.
Strong knowledge of electrical hardware, control devices, and protection system architecture.
Excellent client-facing communication skills with the ability to present and discuss technical concepts clearly.
Experience working with panel shops or external fabrication vendors is preferred.
Must have reliable personal transportation for occasional local travel to panel shop and job site locations.
