About The Role
Join our client's team to design innovative packaging solutions for leading healthcare and consumer product companies. This role is essential in developing custom products that meet customer expectations and support the commercialization process.
Key Responsibilities
- Design flexible packaging and devices, estimating costs and presenting proposals to customers.
- Utilize expertise in plastic welding for flexible materials.
- Conduct Design for Manufacturability assessments, recommending design changes.
- Create prototypes to demonstrate design concepts and manufacturability.
- Lead cross-functional project teams through product development phases.
- Identify product designs to meet customer needs, designing multiple options.
- Collaborate with Operations to ensure products are designed for manufacturing.
- Support design transfer and integration of new products.
- Maintain compliance with government regulations and manage product information.
- Enhance professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in the engineering field.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Technical writing and documentation proficiency.
- Experience in flexible films, medical packaging, or converting operations preferred.
- Experience with RF welding, heat sealing, extrusion, laminating, pouch manufacturing, or printing technologies preferred.
- Experience supporting customer inquiries and inspections preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for 8 hours per day and lift 50 lbs.
Work Environment
- Location: Trevor, WI or Fortville, IN (On-Site Required).
- Travel up to 10-20%.
