Design Engineer – Heavy Transportation (PE)

Location: Oklahoma City, OK Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be a vital member of the Transportation Team, delivering technical excellence on high-profile heavy highway projects. You will ensure every alignment and plan set meets the rigorous standards of state and federal agencies.

  • Alignment Design: Analyze and design complex vertical and horizontal alignments following AASHTO specifications and FHWA guidelines.

  • Technical Review: Review roadway, bridge, traffic, and sidewalk plans for completeness and strict adherence to ODOT/OTA requirements.

  • Plan Development: Utilize OpenRoads to prepare high-quality, construction-ready plan sets within budget and scope.

  • Systems Analysis: Lead the design and analysis of culverts and storm sewer systems.

  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside a multidisciplinary transportation team and coordinate with subconsultants to ensure project continuity and timeline adherence.

  • Quality Assurance: Apply a deep working knowledge of ODOT/OTA standards to ensure all deliverables are client-ready and regulatory-compliant.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for a detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a social, high-energy office environment. This role is designed for a technical leader who enjoys real-time collaboration and hands-on design.

  • Licensure: Valid/active State of Oklahoma Professional Engineer (PE) license (US-based PE reciprocity is fully considered).

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

  • Experience: 5+ years of heavy highway design experience with a proven history of working with public sector agencies (ODOT/OTA).

  • Software Proficiency: Mastery of Bentley products (OpenRoads), Civil 3D, and MS Office.

  • Professionalism: A proven record of delivering superior project management and top-tier client service.
