Job Description
Amphenol PCD is seeking a Design Engineer II to join our Connector Solutions team in Beverly, Massachusetts. This role is responsible for leading the mechanical design of new product concepts through the full product development lifecycle, from initial concept through transfer to production. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with Quality and Operations teams to support design trade-off studies and ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design activities for new product development programs, from concept through production release
Support product development lifecycle activities, including design reviews, verification, validation, and production transfer
Collaborate closely with Quality and Operations teams to evaluate design trade-offs and manufacturability considerations
Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, specifications, and related technical data
Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts for existing products as needed
Ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule requirements
Adhere to internal engineering standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related engineering role
Experience using CAD and PLM systems
Experience with electrical connector design
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Demonstrated problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Organized, methodical approach to engineering work
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing methods and techniques
Experience with environmental testing
Experience using Creo and Windchill
The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 100,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. PCD considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
