Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • All the skills and abilities of Engineer L1.
  • Additionally, must be proficient in technical writing and possess computer skills for scientific and technical applications.
  • Must be able to proficiently handle multiple projects and develop analytical procedures.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure parts/services are requested appropriately, evaluate technical proposals, and write technical reports.
  • Make technical decisions with moderate supervision.
  • Ability to report research and test results in various technical formats.
  • Able to work with a team or on an individual basis to reach project goals.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to design and develop Chassis components (Subframe, Engine Mounts, Suspension/Steering components, etc).
  • Prior design experience with complex aluminum die casting and stamped/welded structures is preferred.
  • Must be able to work with other design and test engineers and suppliers to analyze and resolve technical problems.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects and work with a team to meet development schedules.
  • Requires Catia V6 proficiency (Solids Modeling must; Surfacing modeling want)
  • Design intent and robust modeling (models can withstand major revision)
  • Ability to create and interpret 2D Drawings.
  • GD&T awareness.
  • Prefer previous Chassis design experience.
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturability.
  • Ability to pick up new standards and methodologies.
  • Capability to create and interpret basic CAE models (stiffness, natural frequency, etc)
Education:
  • Requires a BS or MS in engineering.
