A leading provider of core components for global car manufacturers, VS Company is supporting the emerging trend of the vehicle industry.

Design Release Engineers II play a critical role in the successful release and support of automotive products within assigned vehicle program teams. Responsibilities include releasing assigned products to vehicle program teams, supporting development activities, managing the OEM customer relationship, independently managing product release and vehicle program milestones, writing and managing calibration files, supporting technical troubleshooting and product releases, executing vehicle and product plans, and interfacing between LG, OEM production teams, and OEM vehicle teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Release assigned products to vehicle program teams by writing work orders and utilizing customer software tools for releases to production and service environments
  • Provide hands-on and on-site support to assigned vehicle program teams' development activities, including module retrofitting, participating in buy-off rides, conducting barrier tests, and offering initial triage of technical issues.
  • Manage the OEM customer relationship, serving as a primary point of contact for product and vehicle teams
  • Independently manage both product release and vehicle program milestones, ensuring timely communication of issues between teams and providing escalations when necessary
  • Write and manage calibration files for development and production releases based on vehicle requirements
  • Support technical troubleshooting efforts and product releases by identifying and resolving technical issues as they arise
  • Execute vehicle and product plans by coordinating activities, tracking progress, and ensuring adherence to timeline's
  • Serve as a key interface between LG, OEM production teams, and OEM vehicle teams, facilitating communication and conflict resolution as needed 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3+ Years of Engineering experience
  • Written and verbal skills: In-person and virtual meetings via phone and e-mail/messaging/video conference tools (e.g. MS Outlook, Slack, MS Teams, text messaging, etc.)
  • Experience using automotive customer-specific software tools (e.g. EMERGE, gmLogic)
  • Ability to Travel up to 20% annually (domestic and international)

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to lift/carry benches weighing up to 50lbs to setup workstation. (Frequency: up to 5% monthly)
  • Ability to sit while driving and/or testing vehicle for up to 2 hours at a time. (Frequency: up to 10% weekly)
  • Ability to setup & interact with test bench & test equipment in/outside of vehicle weighing up to 25lbs. (Frequency: up to 15% weekly)
  • Bending, stooping, utilizing of hand cart to move packages up to 40lbs. (2-3 shipments per month, w/ approx. 20-40 packages per shipment)

Preferred:

  • Prior automotive work experience
