Job Description

McBride Homes has an exciting opportunity for a Design Sales Consultant to join our team!  McBride is Missouri's largest home builder and is an industry leader in residential new home construction. With an expected 1,000 closings in 2026, McBride Homes is proud to be recognized as the 33rd largest privately-owned builder in the United States and the 69th largest overall according to Builder Magazine.

Our Design Sales Consultants assist McBride's buyers in exploring the latest trends while guiding them through the process of selecting the many interior and exterior finishes for their new home. McBride offers home buyers an experience they will not find with any other builder. Our Design Sales Consultant team works in a gorgeous 10,000 square foot, state of the art, award winning Design Studio. This is a sales-oriented position, not an Interior Design or Graphic Design position. This full-time position follows a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

At McBride Homes, we work hard but also have great company perks. McBride offers competitive compensation, outstanding benefits, 401 (k) plan with matching contribution, paid vacation, and many company outings!

Top reasons to work with us:

  • Great company culture
  • Interact with a wide range of customers
  • Collaborative, High-Energy Team
  • State-of-the-Art Workplace

Salary: $50,000/yr. After completing a comprehensive 6–12-month training program, you'll be eligible for generous monthly bonus opportunities based on your individual performance. Our high-performance earnings structure empowers you to take control of your income and be rewarded for your success.

Responsibilities and requirements include:

  • Experience selling value, not price.
  • Experience using a consultative sales approach, using advanced listening/questioning skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment with an emphasis on the customer experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that are customer-centric, warm, engaging, and persuasive.
  • Must have a keen eye for design (although this is NOT an Interior Design position).
  • Ability to maintain a high-level of positive energy and a temperament to adapt to a wide variety of customer personalities, tastes, and styles.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to sales success.
  • Ability to be collaborative with co-workers, follow established processes, and make valuable contributions to the team.
  • Have an ongoing desire to improve and learn.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to professionalism, including appearance and demeanor.
