SEWS — Farmington Hills, Michigan Office.Although located at SEWS – Farmington Hills Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work.Associates are required to work at least four days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.
Job Title:
Design Validation Engineer I or II
Responsibilities:
  1. Schedule, develop and maintain test plan with Test & Validation department to complete USCAR21 testing on time to customer milestones.
  2. Track test sample material orders and creation to ensure samples are received in time to complete validation according to customer milestones.
  3. Track and identify latest specification changes from Ford and USCAR for DV validation.
  4. Identify, track and resolve open issues.
  5. Ability to work independently to investigate and resolve issues.
  6. Good communication, time management, multitasking and interpersonal skills required.
  7. Interface directly with external customer - Program Management Team, customer engineers and launch team.
  8. Interface with internal customer Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems/Sumitomo Wiring Systems cross-functional groups, program managers and division management.
  9. Interface with external suppliers to resolve validation issues.
  10. Assist Design Release/Systems/3D/Warranty/Testing engineers with issues and analysis as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree with experience in the automotive industry as a Validation Engineer.
  • 1 - 5 years wire harness (EDS Engineer) experience or validation testing preferred.
