How you will make an impact
- Perform predefined cybersecurity test activities supporting software verification and validation (V&V) efforts for medical devices with embedded software, electro-mechanical systems, and networked interfaces.
- Execute approved software design verification and cybersecurity test procedures, including scripted attack scenarios, dynamic software behavior testing, and network traffic capture, in alignment with project plans and parameters defined by cybersecurity and software engineers.
- Support software design verification and cybersecurity engineers by generating high-quality, traceable test data and objective evidence used for software risk evaluation, issue investigation, and regulatory documentation.
- Coordinate cybersecurity test setup and execution activities across development builds, test environments, and device configurations, working closely with engineering and lab personnel.
- Prepare complete and accurate laboratory records, logs, network captures, and tool outputs to enable engineers to assess results, investigate anomalies, and complete formal test documentation.
This role may also involve cross-training into other software-related design verification activities outside of cybersecurity, based on project needs and individual development goals.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or higher AND one (1) year of technical experience in cybersecurity testing, software testing, laboratory testing, or validation of software-driven systems will be taken into consideration (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
OR
- High School Diploma/GED AND three (3) years of technical experience in cybersecurity testing, software testing, laboratory testing, or validation of software-driven systems will be taken into consideration (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
- One (1) year of experience executing predefined technical test methods using approved procedures and protocols
- One (1) year of experience capturing, organizing, and preserving objective test data and evidence
- Experience working with networked systems, embedded software, or software-controlled devices
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience with other forms of security testing activities and creating documentation, such as software composition analysis (SCA), SBOM generation and monitoring, threat modelling and vulnerability assessments, and using associated frameworks, test plans, protocols, reports.
- Experience with Cybersecurity testing and equipment (Penetration Testing, malformed input testing / fuzz testing, static application security testing (SAST), etc.)
- Familiarity with laboratory test environments and controlled test setups
- Experience supporting testing activities in a regulated or quality-driven environment
- Good verbal and written English skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Proficient with PC computer and Microsoft Office software
- Flexibility with working hours. Overtime may be required as deemed necessary by business objectives
- Testing may require long periods of sitting or standing
Work location: Onsite at San Antonio, TX
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/ international

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $50,240 - $69,080, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
