Job Description
The Development Connectivity Design Architect II will be the primary subject matter expert to all OSP and ISP aspects of the new and existing sites. Primary responsibilities will include the leading all Connectivity related new site development design standards, OSP material standards quality assurance, installation, 3rd party vendor management and oversight. This position will own the QTS Connectivity BOD and set work closely with the respective development teams to manage and provide annual updates as needed. Additionally, this position will provide direction and technical oversight to the QA\QC technicians, project managers, and vendors. Additionally, this position will require a very hands-on approach and engagement with customers, providing solid telecom-related governance to Development, complex problem solving and offering guidance on fiber construction and hyperscale values.
RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned
Work with existing customers to identify needs and communicate how QTS can solve those needs.
Monitor new trends, new technology, and new service development across the industry.
Track and analyze past performance and lessons learned to refine installation processes and procedures and strategies
Govern construction team and assure Basis of Design (BOD) adherence and any subsequent ISP design execution and delivery.
Provide ownership of the BOD and make scheduled annual updates that align with Freedom build standards
Company SME responsible for setting all the standards for design specifications, materials and best practices.
Provide technical guidance for QA technicians and program managers for all OSP inspections.
Interpret Butterfly drawings, KMZ, site plans and connectivity turnover
Experience with CAD design
Experience with Sales - Customer design, Build-to-suit, post-sales support
Be the OSP leader to bridge the gap with Connectivity and QA Development team to assure OSP design standards adherence.
Bring large enterprise org process and documentation experience to help mature current QTS processes.
Bring a different view of the data center telecom skill set that comes from an outside perspective.
Hyperscale engagement at various project sites, as well as regularly attending Hyperscale meetings.
Knowledgeable on OSP, ISP, Vault, Manhole and handhole installation, management and best practices and industry standards.
Interact with Pre & Post Development teams often and must be able to communicate across all areas of the organization.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
Ten or more years of relevant professional experience including extensive experience in all aspects of Cloud and Network Services.
OSP and ISP auditing and project management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ten or more years of experience working in a data center environment focused on Site development
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proven record of accomplishment in Cloud and Network Services business development.
Ability to pull together cross-functional support for business development initiatives.
Strong written and verbal communications skills; advanced ability in problem solving and decision-making skills.
Must have a team focus while maintaining a demonstrated ability to work independently.
Ability to manage a wide variety of complex tasks and projects simultaneously.
Experience with customer relationship management and opportunity tracking; ability to understand and clearly present to customers highly technical concepts.
