Job Description
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the collection, organization, and analysis of data from various resources. Additionally, the DevOps Engineer will be responsible for development and problem solving for a wide variety of data-driven systems in the organization including IaaS, Automation, Scripting, Identity Management, and Windows Servers. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between the development and operations teams, ensuring seamless software development delivery. You will streamline and automate processes, manage infrastructure and implement best practices for continuous integration, deployment and delivery.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Data Analysis and Reporting
- Translates loosely defined requirements and/or ideas into solutions.
- Reviews, analyzes, and creates detailed documentation of business systems and user needs, including workflow, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify reports and applications
- Coordinates the development of all approved versions of business and functional specifications for specified reports and applications
- Reviews use cases and other technical documents with IT project staff to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents
- Prepares routine reports to internal and external customers
- Reviews and Implements changes to Cloud, Identity, and IaaS services
- Creates, manages, and maintains IT automation workflows
- Contributes to, maintains, and manages the IT Codebase
- Attend meetings with departmental leaders to implement development-focused solutions for both IT managed and non-IT Managed systems.
- Builds automated processes wherever possible
- Implements various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
- Configures and manages databases
- Understands project KPIs
- Incidence management and root cause analysis
- Provides direct and responsive support for urgent analytical needs
- Diagnose and resolve issues across development, testing and production environments
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes and configurations to ensure knowledge transfer and repeatability.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and communication
- Provide backup support for enterprise systems such as Infor Lawson and Dayforce as needed.
- Develop and maintain API solutions for cloud-based services
- Windows Server Administration and Development
- Develop and implement IaaS based solutions for cloud IT initiatives (Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- Maintain, develop, and implement Identity Management solutions (SSO, MFA, Self-Service, Automation)
- Write, release, and version IT codebases
- Develop and support data interfaces for CA information portals
- Follow-up and communication between internal users and external entities
- Understand project concept, objectives and approach
- Takes assigned project from original concept through final implementation
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize performance through infrastructure tuning and application optimizations.
- Understanding of relational databases and strong knowledge of SQL.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server 2008 and onward
- Working knowledge of IaaS configurations and principals (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Strong proficiency in scripting/shell, data, and API languages
- Working knowledge of databases and database design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving tools and methodologies in the DevOps landscape
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, relevant DevOps Engineering experience or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Demonstrated skill in problem solving and troubleshooting computer hardware, software and network connectivity.
- Ability to Identify and implement cross-departmental solutions for non-IT managed systems (HRIS, LMS, PowerPlan, etc)
- Experienced technical liaison for both internal and external customers
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
- Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to learn technical and procedural information and disseminate to instructors of varying computing skills.
- Experience providing technical customer support on the phone, online, and in person.
- Experience developing, documenting, and teaching technical curriculum with hands-on exercises.
- Work with systems experts to process any application as needed.
- Ability to mentor and train team members or team leaders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team providing timely, high-quality services.
- Ability to prioritize and resolve conflicting user requests while frequently interrupted in a busy environment.
- Ability to work professionally with CA faculty who are content experts but not technical experts.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when accessing records for business needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Must adhere to all CA policies, procedures and priorities.
- Must adhere to security policy requirements for web-based information.
- Must adhere to (and have a working knowledge of) legal issues associated with software licensing, development, and distribution, and copyright issues in electronic publishing.
