  • Review electrical drawing packages, specifications, calculations, studies, and equipment selections for adherence to company design standards.

  • Drive electrical standards, best practices, quality, consistency, scalability, maintainability, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.

  • Collaborate with internal and external design teams to confirm compliance with established standards, applicable codes, and requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to define project requirements, evaluate deviations from standards, and communicate technical direction to design teams.

  • Support Construction, Commissioning, and Risk Management teams in resolving requests for information, value engineering proposals, and design issues discovered during construction and commissioning.

  • Collaborate with Strategic Procurement to support electrical equipment strategy and review owner-furnished, contractor-installed (OFCI) equipment submittals for compliance with standard design criteria.

  • Work with consultants to develop and review short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies for adherence to company standards.

  • Evaluate electrical system architecture and major equipment, including utility service, substations, medium-voltage and low-voltage distribution, generators, UPS systems, battery systems, switchgear, protective relaying, and grounding systems.

  • Create and communicate program updates, key risks, technical decisions, and engineering milestone status in a format suitable for executive-level review.

  • Mentor engineers and project teams, support onboarding, and provide technical guidance without direct supervisory responsibility.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical improvements to electrical design platforms and standards.

  • Manage multiple projects and technical initiatives simultaneously.

  • Travel up to 25% as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 8-10 years of professional experience in electrical design engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, or maintenance of mission-critical facilities.

  • 4-8 years of experience leading mission-critical design, implementation, project execution, or technical programs.

  • Experience with power system design, redundant systems, short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination, and arc-flash analysis.

  • Experience applying the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and electrical industry standards, procedures, and methodologies.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint for executive-level project updates and Excel for engineering analysis and reporting.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience designing electrical systems for data centers or other mission-critical facilities.

  • Program management, project management, or technical lead experience on large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.

  • Direct experience with data center construction, commissioning, operations, or facility maintenance.

  • Advanced knowledge of medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems and their integration into mission-critical environments.

  • Experience with utility coordination, substations, generators, UPS systems, battery energy storage systems, switchgear, protective relaying, and grounding systems.

  • Experience with performance-based alternatives to prescriptive electrical designs.

  • Advanced multidisciplinary knowledge of mission-critical systems, design processes, pre-construction requirements, and construction execution.

  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical issues to senior leadership and non-engineers.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Proven team player who works well in internal and external team environments.

  • Ability to solve complex technical problems and develop scalable, maintainable, and efficient solutions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to influence technical priorities, standards, and system architecture without direct authority.

  • Ability to make sound technical decisions for regional projects and program direction.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Commitment to mentoring, onboarding, and developing other team members.
