Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their DevOps & Application Systems Analyst (GitLab/Sonar) position! This is a 12+ month contract opportunity and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY (4 days onsite). This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C.
Position Overview:
Provides designs, specifies information systems solutions, and delivers highly technical direction in the development of new or existing applications to solve basic to complex problems or enhancements. Serves as a principal application designer for major modifications, leveraging analytical and technical skills to evaluate client requirements and processes. Provides technologically sound solutions and may support day-to-day operations, special projects, and mentor less experienced team members.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Complete and oversee systems analysis, design, and development activities across complex projects
- Serve as a key individual contributor on high-impact initiatives
- Maintain strong functional understanding of supported applications
- Coordinate development tasks and guide less experienced team members
- Prepare and manage technical project plans and documentation
- Participate in full SDLC activities from technical analysis through user acceptance testing
- Develop and execute test plans, including debugging and validation
- Analyze complex system integrations and provide technical consulting
- Create and maintain detailed technical and functional documentation
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend process improvements
- Ensure adherence to development standards, policies, and procedures
- Support business units by aligning technology solutions with strategic goals
GitLab Administration:
- Setup and manage groups/subgroups aligned to organizational structure
- Coordinate and analyze project/pipeline migrations
- Execute migration of projects, including AD permissions and group variables
- Update branch rules to align with new conventions
- Support application teams with protected environments
- Implement unit testing and Sonar jobs within merge request approvals
Sonar Administration:
- Configure applications and portfolios aligned to organizational structure
- Migrate projects into Sonar applications
- Develop reporting for applications and portfolios
What You'll Need to Have:
- 5+ years of systems analysis and/or application development experience
- Experience designing and supporting complex application systems
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies
- Experience with GitLab administration and CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with Sonar (SonarQube or similar tools)
- Ability to manage migrations, permissions, and environment configurations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with testing, debugging, and validation processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Preferred:
- Bachelors or Associates degree (or equivalent experience)
- Experience working with enterprise application frameworks
- Background in financial services or regulated environments
- Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring team members
Pay Range: $55 - $60/hr
