Job Description

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is one of the largest trade associations in the nation, representing more than 300 heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC), water heating, and commercial refrigeration manufacturers from all parts of the world. Ensuring human comfort, productivity, and safety while practicing environmental stewardship is the mission of AHRI. Through our certification program, standards, advocacy, and other activities, we strive to help save energy, improve productivity, and ensure a better environment.AHRI has an opening for a DevOps Engineer. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automation solutions that streamline software delivery and infrastructure management. This role requires strong expertise in cloud technologies, networking, virtualization, and scripting to support AHRI’s hybrid environment and cloud-first strategy.Essential duties and responsibilities for this position are as follows:

Implement containerization and serverless technologies to optimize application scalability and performance.
Manage and monitor cloud environments (preferably Microsoft Azure) ensuring security, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Automate operational tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell required; Python, Bash preferred).
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to networking, virtualization, and cloud services.
Maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and best practices.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited college/university.

Relevant Experience:

3-plus years of experience in DevOps or related roles.
Proven track record in cloud automation and infrastructure as code.
Proven work experience with CI/CD pipelines for application deployment and infrastructure automation.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Implement containerization and serverless technologies to optimize application scalability and performance.
Manage and monitor cloud environments (preferably Microsoft Azure) ensuring security. compliance and cost efficiency.
Ability to provide leadership concise updates on software systems.
Cloud Expertise: proven work experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud.
Networking: strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, and load balancing.
Virtualization: experience with VMware or Hyper-V environments.
Scripting: proficiency in PowerShell; familiarity with Python, Bash, or other languages.
Automation & Containerization: hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless frameworks.
CI/CD Tools: knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.

AHRI offers a full benefits package with a flexible work schedule and a friendly work environment.The salary range for this position is $109,278.00 - $142,142.00 based upon experienceThe work location for this position is Arlington, VA.
