Job Description

Introduction

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in Irving, TX, for a 12-month contract. This role involves supporting an analytics platform from a DevOps perspective, with a focus on Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory. The ideal candidate will possess a hybrid skill set in cloud infrastructure management, automation, CI/CD practices, and a background or exposure to ELT and data engineering.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Applicants must be able to work directly on a W2 basis.
4 years of experience developing APIs and integrating with third-party APIs.
Strong SQL skills (SQL Server or Oracle).
Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab).
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience with Azure AD, OAuth, JWT, and Azure Synapse.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, data warehousing, and big data concepts.
Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container orchestration.
Preferred certifications: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400).

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Provision and manage Azure data services through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
Deploy, manage, and optimize Azure data services, ensuring performance and resource utilization.
Automate routine operational tasks using scripting languages.
Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with data governance policies.
Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to develop technical solutions.
