Job Description
Summary: Integrate Ansible with Terraform to establish consistent infrastructure-as-code (IaC) deployment processes across hybrid environments. Codify infrastructure, security, and governance for high availability and repeatability. Collaborate with engineering and security teams to implement best practices enhancing system reliability and performance. Serve as Automation SME providing assistance, training, and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, engineer, automate, provision, implement, manage, and scale Microsoft server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux cloud environments using Ansible Playbooks and Cloud Modules.
- Implement and enforce cloud security, risk management, and compliance best practices.
- Conduct continuous security testing and code reviews to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to architectural designs, technical documentation, and engineering solutions improving security and accessibility.
- Stay current with cloud security technologies, tools, and industry best practices.
- Design end-to-end automation workflows combining Ansible configuration management with Terraform infrastructure provisioning.
Required Qualifications:
- 8-10+ years experience in information technology, systems engineering, or software development.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Current DoD 8570.1/8140 IAT/M Level III certification.
- Mastery of DevSecOps principles including securing/managing code repositories (Bitbucket, GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
- Proven experience designing/deploying cloud infrastructure and containerized workloads using IaC (Terraform, Bicep).
- Proficiency in HashiCorp ecosystem (Nomad for container orchestration, Consul for service discovery/mesh networking).
- Proven track record deploying Configuration as Code (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) to extend CI/CD and standardize server configurations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (counts for 4 years experience).
- MS/MA, MBA, or PhD (counts for 2 years experience).
- Cloud, Automation, IaC certificates/training.
- Professional Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Network, Storage, or Cloud certifications.
- Experience in regulated environments (financial, healthcare, government).
- CI/CD tools experience (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Agile methodologies familiarity.
- Virtualized environments experience (Azure, VMware NSX).
- ITIL Foundations certification.
