Job Description:

Provide leadership and support in the management of care delivery for patients with diabetes, to achieve high quality, and maximize outcomes across the continuum of care. Coordinate program development, quality performance improvement, and diabetes education related outcomes research. Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years clinical experience to include educating patients on diabetes required. 

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) OR Bachelors Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics, Exercise Physiology or closely related field required.

  • If applicable, completion of Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetic Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) required.

  • If applicable, completion of a CADE accredited Dietetic Internship Program/Coordinated Program in Dietetics required.

  • Excellent teaching and communication skills (written and verbal) required.

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork and work with minimal direction required.

  • Public speaking ability required.

  • Basic knowledge in office computer tools such as Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook required.

  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist through the State of Nebraska Department of Health and Registered dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration required (if applicable).

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a leadership role preferred.

  • Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
