Job Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - OBGYN, 5280, Highlands Ranch

Job Summary:

Performs independent diagnostic ultrasound examinations for patients in an OBGYN practice, supporting evaluation and care by the attending physician. Prepares accurate preliminary reports for physician review and ensures the quality and integrity of all sonographic data obtained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • At the direction of a qualified physician or advanced practice provider (APP), performs independent diagnostic ultrasound examinations requiring independent judgment and initiative in the utilization of ultrasonic equipment for diagnostic ultrasound examinations.

  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice.

  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in patient status as appropriate

  • Prepares equipment and supplies.

  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.

  • Four to six (4-6) years of ultrasound technician experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship or employment authorization for this position now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One to two (1-2) years of vascular ultrasound technician experience in an outpatient "obstetrics."

  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.

  • Epic and Kronos experience.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).

  • Registered as a Technologist (RT) and certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). State licensure is required by law.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross healthcare provider level CPR certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, to include physicians, leadership, and staff within the various affiliate organizations (UCH, Children's Colorado, CU Medicine, CU SOM).

  • Ability to work within large, complex healthcare systems.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.

  • Ability to compile complex reports and develop presentations.

  • Ability to compose letters and memorandums.

  • Ability to deal calmly and courteously with people.

  • Ability to deal with stressful situations.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $84,652 to $97,123.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
