Diesel Mechanic- Day ShiftWilliston, ND | $35-$45/hour BOE | Monday-Friday

Savage is hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic for our new Williston, ND location. You'll work on a modern fleet of tractors and trailers supporting our crude oil and transportation operations.
This is a great opportunity for a mechanic who knows diesel equipment, enjoys diagnosing and fixing problems, and wants a Monday-Friday day shift with a company that values safety and quality work.

What You'll Work OnAs a Diesel Mechanic, you'll help keep our tractors and trailers safe, reliable, and ready to work. Our equipment is used to transport crude oil, pipe, and other products throughout our operations.
Your day-to-day work will include
Performing scheduled preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and related equipmentTroubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical issuesRepairing suspensions, rear ends, transmissions, air brake systems, and related componentsPerforming minor engine repairs, including injectors, turbos, and similar componentsUsing computer-based diagnostic systems to identify and troubleshoot problemsVisually inspecting equipment and identifying needed repairs before they become larger issuesMaintaining accurate maintenance and repair recordsWorking closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and operations team to keep equipment running safely and efficientlyCompleting additional shop and maintenance duties as needed
What We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can diagnose problems without being handed every answer, and understands the importance of keeping a working fleet on the road.
A strong candidate will have
2-3+ years of semi-truck or fleet diesel mechanic experienceHands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty trucksExperience with suspensions, transmissions, rear ends, air brakes, and minor engine repairsExperience using computer-based diagnostic systemsAbility to independently identify and diagnose mechanical problemsStrong commitment to safe work practicesAbility to communicate effectively with other mechanics, drivers, supervisors, and operations personnelAbility to understand written and verbal safety procedures, operational instructions, policies, and applicable regulationsClass A CDL is a plus, but not requiredAluminum welding experience is a plus
Physical RequirementsThis is a hands-on diesel mechanic position. Team Members must be able to:
Frequently lift and handle parts and equipment weighing up to 80 lbs.Safely climb on and off trucks, trailers, and equipmentBend, kneel, crawl, reach, and work in different positions while completing repairsPerform physically demanding maintenance and repair work throughout the shift
