Job Description
Location: Portland, OR (97211)FT/PT Status: Full TimeShift: Day Shift (6am- 3pm)Schedule: Monday - FridayHourly Rate: $26.00 - $32.00 (DOE – Depending on Experience)United Salad Co. one of the largest family-owned distributors of fresh produce, grocery, and foodservice products in the Pacific Northwest, is seeking a motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. We service and maintain a fleet of over 200 vehicles, distributing produce to national and independent grocers, restaurants, schools, and other institutions from local farmers and growers worldwide.We are adding another position to our established crew of mechanics, as our fleet continues to grow. Job Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair Class A trucks and refrigerated trailers.
- Maintain and service all equipment to Federal DOT standards.
- Inspect and replace worn brake components. Experience with steering and suspension systems is desirable.
- Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, power tools, pneumatic wrenches, and jacks.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and equipment lubrication.
- Keep detailed documentation of all service and repairs performed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Must be 18+ years of age
- Must be able to speak, write, and read in English fluently
- Must provide own hand tools adequate for job functions
- Valid driver’s license required
- Minimum one year of truck and/or trailer repair experience
- Unrestricted ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift (up to 75 lbs.), push, pull, climb, and lie on back in a horizontal position for prolonged periods
Position is contingent upon a successful background check, an acceptable motor vehicle record check, and the ability to pass a drug screen, including THC.
