Job Overview

We are looking for a knowledgeable and skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in various vehicles and equipment. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Core Functions

  • Diagnose and Repair: Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, including fuel systems, exhaust systems, electrical systems, and transmissions.
  • Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers to explain issues, provide repair options, and ensure satisfaction with services rendered.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaboration: Work with other technicians and staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry advancements, technologies, and best practices in diesel repair and maintenance.

Competencies and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in diesel technology is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, OEM certifications) are a plus but not required.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment specific to diesel engines.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift/carry 100+ lbs infrequently.
  • Prolonged periods of walking and standing.
