Job Description

The Digital CBT Coach is exceptional at supporting Learn to Live’s members by providing encouragement, support, clarification of high-fidelity Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, motivation, assistance with habit change, and verbal reinforcement as they advance through our programs. You are skilled at creating a working alliance, managing documentation of contacts, and identifying creative ways to help members move past roadblocks to progress in their programs and reach their goals. You understand that Learn to Live meets the needs of a large volume of members, and you strive to provide these services with a strong sense of personal caring, while still seeking opportunities for increased efficiency. You participate with our Chief Clinical Officer and Director of Digital CBT Coaching to continue to refine your understanding and skills in CBT content and coaching services. You collaborate with the coaching team to create a schedule that meets the needs of our members which would include hours outside of Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM CST. This position reports to our Director of Digital CBT Coaching. As part of our rapidly growing L2L team, you will experience a close-knit team environment, a “self-starting, wear-many-hats, roll-up-your-sleeves” culture, exposure to cutting-edge tech-enabled behavioral health service delivery, and the opportunity to develop knowledge of the healthcare industry and landscape. You will receive training to become an expert with advanced CBT strategies that you can apply as one of the first providers in this new era of behavioral health care.  Essential Job Functions 
  • Contribute to all aspects of member coaching: coaching invitations, intake of new members using a standardized process, determination of coaching modality, scheduling of coaching sessions, delivery of coaching services via phone, SMS, or email, supportive coaching on CBT techniques and strategies, and follow-up to motivate members and encourage them to stay engaged.    
  • Ongoing, unobtrusive assessment of member safety and management of safety issues (including escalation to other coaching staff or Chief Clinical Officer as needed). 
  • Detailed documentation of all interactions with members. 
  • Utilize CBT and motivational interviewing techniques to help members fully benefit from Learn to Live’s programs. 
  • Collaborate with other members of the clinical team to support efforts to refine the coaching process and clinical program content. 
  • Support other team needs that arise, including data analysis, research, testimonial processes, webinars, crisis protocol, team trainings, etc. 
  • Regular, reliable attendance, whether in the office or remotely. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Key Role Requirements
  • Master’s Degree or higher from a graduate program in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or counseling.   
  • Active clinical licensure in residing state (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LPCC, or equivalent).
  • Completion of clinical practicum or internship. 
  • Ability to create a meaningful working alliance with members. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly via verbal, SMS, and email channels. 
  • Understanding the basic and advanced principles of CBT, with consistent and active promotion of high-fidelity CBT.  
  • Comfortable being recorded and appearing on camera for the creation of video and audio content used to teach CBT tools and exercises.
  • Ability to create a schedule that meets organization and member needs. 
  • Flexible, team-player attitude, willing to participate in non-coaching activities at times for the common good of the L2L team and our members. 
  • Self-driven, motivated, and result oriented.  
  • Ability to work quickly and assertively in an occasionally unstructured and dynamic environment. 
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Ability to pass a background check. 
Work Environment Digital CBT coaches will work remotely. The compensation package will be tailored to the candidate, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and skills.
