Position: Digital Communications CoordinatorReports to: Marketing & Communications DirectorStatus: Full-time (40 hours) Classification: Non-ExemptPleasant Valley Baptist Church (PV) is a vibrant, growing community of faith in the northland of Kansas City, Missouri with a mission to unleash the transforming influence of Jesus at PV, the northland, and beyond. We are a Gospel-driven community church that actively invests in strengthening families, group life, and local and international missions.As the Digital Communications Coordinator, you aim to forge meaningful connections, ensuring every initiative aligns with our overarching strategies. With your expertise, you will develop and execute digital strategies that deeply engage our audience and reinforce their sense of belonging. This position requires PV Membership and may require some evenings and/or weekend hours.Job ResponsibilitiesDigital Marketing Initiatives● Assist in proofing and writing copy for digital platforms.● Partner with staff and develop ministry partner teams to support communication goals, initiatives, and strategies.Digital Communication Channels● Oversee the production and sharing of engaging content on our online channels, ensuring consistency and relevance.● Monitor our social media platforms closely, interact with the audience, and analyze feedback to refine our approach.● Collaborate with various ministry departments and partners to enhance our presence on podcasting channels.● Regularly review our public platforms to confirm they align with Pleasant Valley's branding standards.● Build and develop teams of ministry partners, providing guidance and training to achieve ourcommunication objectives effectively.Pleasant Valley Website● Coordinate with ministry partners and departments to oversee the publication schedule and management of blog content, sermon archives, and on-demand resources, ensuring a consistent and engaging stream of materials is available to the community.● Collaborate with staff to enhance website functionality and provide targeted training for effective site management.● Serve as the end user advocate for experience and usability by supporting design and contentmaintenance.Photography and Videography● Build and develop teams of ministry partners to serve on photography and videography teams.● Identify needs and facilitate coverage for church archives, social media platforms, websites, print pieces, and communication campaigns.Email Marketing● Equip and train staff on email marketing strategies to foster and maintain connections with online users.● Guide the development and use of Pleasant Valley’s email templates, emphasizing best practices and user experience.● Oversee the implementation of email marketing best practices and ensure church-wide campaigns are effectively executed.Qualifications / Job Skills● Excellent copywriting skills● Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication● Attention to detail● Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects● Project management skills and ability to deliver on time● Highly motivated, confident, resilient, and positive attitude● Passion for communications and the local church● Strategic and creative● Analytical mindset to analyze data and metrics and translate insight into actionable strategies● Desire to continuously learn and grow● Collaborative● Problem Solver● Self-Starter● Familiarity with Leadership Challenge PrinciplesEducation / Experience● Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred● 2-3 years of Experience in a related field● 1-3 years of experience in leading a creative communications team
