Position Summary:

Demonstrate a strong commitment to the philosophy and goals of the mission of Hebrew Senior Life and recognize resident/patient dignity and choice in aspects of daily life.Work with team to meet all needs of the members of New Bridge.Strive to make every encounter with a resident/patient into a positive and meaningful experience and opportunity, while providing safe and efficient quality of care.

Position Responsibilities::

  • Supervise service staff and meal service in all Restaurants and Retail areas including Traditional Assisted Living, Memory Support Assisted Living, Independent Living and Retail to ensure prompt and courteous service, quality presentation, and that all foods are prepared to residents liking and satisfaction. Also, ensure that portion control is utilized for cost effectiveness.

  • Coordinate seating for residents and their guests at all meals, including set up and supervision for holidays, functions and special programs.

  • Work closely with the Executive Director, Director of Restaurants, Food and Beverage Director, Executive Chef, Restaurant Managers, line cooks and staff, in regard to customer service, service procedures and standards, menu items and products and equipment used in the dining rooms.

  • Comply with proper storage procedures of all food items (Serve Safe Certified preferred)

  • Perform the day to day operations of the department including but not limited to; employee scheduling, ordering, interdepartmental communication with Marketing and the Food and Beverage teams as well as frequent correspondence with clients regarding banquets and events.

  • Works directly with Restaurant and Retail Managers to provide a quality dining experience for Residents, Employees and guests.

  • Familiarizes newly hired employees with practices of the retail outlets and oversees training

  • Executes and manages compliance of procedural manuals for all retail kitchen and food operations

  • Responsible for compliance with all local, state and federal requirements relative to operation, equipment, training, certification for NewBridge facility and team.

  • Supervises restaurant and retail employees to ensure sanitation and safety guidelines, and merchandising standards are followed.

  • Participation in industry-related meetings and organizations

  • Exercise initiative, seeking additional tasks and projects from supervisor. Recognize problems independently and work toward improving systems and procedures.

  • Communicate with supervisor as to any problems relating to missing or defective equipment.

  • Provide exceptional customer service

  • Motivate staff by exhibiting and setting an example of high standards.

  • Demonstrate leadership and knowledge by utilizing a hands-on approach.

  • Maintain professional appearance at all times, clean and well groomed in accordance with company standards

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years in a supervisory role, within a Restaurant/Health care environment preferred

  • Experience in contract foodservice, fine dining setting, or restaurant with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control preferred.

  • Possess or have the ability to possess any required certifications such as ServSafe

  • Knowledge of Kosher food and the workings of a kosher kitchen is a plus.

  • Experienced with food requisition process to assure food utilization and costing

  • Proficiency in the use of general and discipline-specific computer software and systems including MS Office

  • Good knowledge of quick serve operations, counter service and retail operations.

  • Detail oriented

  • Exceptional organization skills

  • Ability to be flexible

  • Ability to multitask

Stands and walks short/long distances.

Stoops, reaches, and lifts equipment and food.
