Job Description

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Direct Marketing, the Direct Marketing Specialist is responsible for generating revenue via focusing on the high-level players that are in the Player Development and VIP segments using multiple channels including Direct Mail, Email, Application (App), and Short Message Service. Optimizes campaign effectiveness by tracking and analyzing direct marketing programs.

Performs research and analysis-finding opportunities to grow our database.

Please note this is an onsite position 5 days per week in Highland, CA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Plans, develops and executes direct marketing campaigns via email, direct mail and digital marketing channels for the high-level players that are in the Player Development and VIP segments in an efficient and effective manner to generate a positive return on investment and to enhance member loyalty.

  2. Performs copy-editing and proofreading.

  3. Manages the relationship between Database Marketing and Promotions, VIP and Player Development in respect to special events and promotions that target the casino's high-level guests.

  4. Works hand in hand with external vendors and the Production Department to execute direct mail programs.

  5. Provides management with consistent database activity status reports on Player Development and VIP campaign performance.

  6. Leads Player Development and VIP marketing campaigns and ensures effectiveness by reviewing and analyzing data and developing metrics.

  7. Is responsible for growing and engaging the high-end database by focusing on member loyalty and acquisition and collaborating with other departments to ensure data integrity.

  8. Supports data segmentation and producing matrices for direct marketing campaigns to be used for email, direct mail and digital marketing.

  9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's Degree in Marketing or related field required.

  • Minimum two (2) years' experience managing complex variable mail data or campaigns required.

  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Advanced knowledge in the full campaign lifecycle using email, app, SMS and direct mail.

  • Knowledge of segmentation, CRM tools, and list purchasing a plus.

  • Intermediate experience and knowledge using Excel required.

  • Knowledge of web metrics and analytics programs a plus.

  • Intermediate knowledge of interactive communication platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, email, SMS, and mobile applications.

  • Must be able to work collaboratively and independently.

  • Must have demonstrable oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be assertive, detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.

  • Must possess a curiosity and a willingness to take calculated risks with potential for a positive return on investment (ROI).

  • Must be able to translate business goals and outcomes and create actionable, measurable plans.

  • Must have a strong passion for innovation, best-in-class standards, and continual learning and development.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

  • No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver's license or insurance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.

Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.

Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.

Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.

Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.

Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.

The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
