Direct Support Professional

In this meaningful role, you will provide individualized support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, empowering them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. As a DSP, your responsibilities will include assisting clients with daily living skills, helping them engage in community activities, and promoting self-advocacy and personal growth. Key Responsibilities

• Support individuals in daily living tasks including personal care, cooking, and cleaning.
• Facilitate client participation in social and community activities to enhance social skills.
• Implement and monitor individualized plans for care, documenting progress as needed.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to foster relationships based on trust.
• Ensure a safe and positive environment for all clients under your care.
• Collaborate with families and a multidisciplinary team to address the needs of the individuals served.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, with an ability to connect with individuals and their families.
• Compassionate demeanor and a sincere desire to help others.
• Valid driver's license and transportation for community outings.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• CPR and First Aid certification is beneficial, or must be attained post-hire.
