Make a real impact as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives - while being supported by a team that truly cares.

For over 20 years, Full Life has been championing inclusion, independence, and growth for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Based on Hawaii Island, we offer a welcoming, supportive work environment where both participants and staff are set up to thrive.

Position: Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Shifts Available: Overnights, Evenings, and Mornings

As a DSP, you'll support individuals in their homes and community, helping them reach personal goals, build independence, and enjoy everyday life.

What You'll Do

  • Provide Personal Care: Support daily living needs, including eating, mobility, bathing, toileting, and hygiene, with dignity and respect.

  • Overnight & Evening Support: Ensure participant safety, comfort, and care during evening and overnight hours.

  • Promote Independence: Encourage choice, self-determination, and goal achievement.

  • Community Engagement: Support social connections and access to community activities.

  • Build Relationships: Be a consistent, compassionate presence that makes a real difference.

  • No Experience Required: CNA experience is a plus, but not required - we provide paid training and ongoing support.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking caring, reliable individuals who want to make a difference. We'll train you for success.

  • 18 years or older

  • High School Diploma or GED (or ability to demonstrate key skills)

  • CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record

  • Tuberculosis clearance (we'll help you with this)
