Job Description

Join our award‑winning marketing team and help shape the strategy for RiverSource insurance and annuity products. We are seeking an experienced marketing leader to manage a team of senior marketing managers and lead the development and execution of go‑to‑market strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and sales. In this role, you will oversee the creation of marketing collateral, including sales literature, digital tools, and campaigns, and develop clear, compelling communications for financial advisors, clients, and employees. You will also lead the development of messaging and positioning frameworks, launch integrated marketing campaigns, and guide audience analysis to deliver targeted communications that help financial advisors align RiverSource solutions with client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of senior marketing managers, fostering growth in marketing expertise and business acumen.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for new and existing products, focusing on positioning, messaging, naming, and communications planning.

  • Create compelling marketing materials including sales literature, digital tools, email campaigns, videos, interactive content, and social media assets.

  • Design and implement targeted marketing campaigns using audience segmentation and personalized messaging.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners including Legal, Compliance, Sales, Program Management, and Business Intelligence to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance marketing programs, tools, and processes for optimal performance.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and advisor/client needs to inform marketing decisions.

  • Manage multiple projects independently, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in marketing.

  • Series 6 and 26 licenses required, or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire.

  • Prior leadership experience including managing multiple direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging communications.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives.

  • Excellent problem-solving and planning capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.

  • Collaborative mindset with experience working across diverse teams and functions.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $122,000- $155,000/ year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
