Director, Data Product Owner

The DataProduct Owner reports to the Head of CFT Data and partners with seniorstakeholders, CFT Platform engineering and enterprise data leadership. Data Product Ownerslead the strategic direction forthedata products serving BlackRock’scorporatefunctions.

About This Role

The Data Product Owner will own the product vision,roadmapandoperating model forthedata products withintheir purview (e.g., HR,financeor client book of business)This leader is accountable for designing andmaintainingthe end-to-end data model and for moving the organization from bespoke, project-based data delivery toward standardized,governedandreusable data products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the data product strategy,roadmapand backlog; rationalize fragmented reporting and data demand into a coherent portfolio 

  • Define and manage the full data product lifecycle,establishingreusable, governed assetsthatsupport workflows, AI usecasesandregulatory needs 

  • Design andmaintainthe end-to-end data model; drivedata quality, lineage,ownershipandgovernance routines

  • Serve as the primary product interface betweendatastakeholders andtechnology teams, translatingbusiness needs into clear product requirements, datadefinitionsandimplementation plans

  • Partner with CFT Platform and data engineering teams to implement pipelines, transformations, accesspatternsanddistribution mechanisms

  • Collaborate with CFT teams supporting Finance, HR,Legal & ComplianceandAuditto promote consistent data product practices and cross-functional reuse

  • Support adoption of enterprise data platforms, metadata/catalogstandardsandaccess controls

Required Experience

  • Strong understanding ofa givendatadomain (e.g., HR,financeor client book of business)

  • Proventrack recordof defining data product strategy, roadmapsandprioritization frameworksanddesigning enterprise-grade data models with governance routinesforquality, lineage,metadataand ownership 

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes inlarge,matrixed enterprise environments 

  • Strong communicationskills, including the ability toengage senior stakeholders,drive alignment across functions andtranslate complex, competing business needs into structured, executable product plans

  • ExperienceleveragingAI to enable scalability and consistency, including automation, workflow standardization and improved knowledge sharingwhilemaintainingownership,governanceand reliability of outcomes

Nice-to-HaveExperience

  • Experience in asset management, investmentmanagementor acomplexglobal financial institution

  • Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake), BI tools, metadata/catalogsolutionsanddata quality tooling

  • Experience leading an organization’s transition from report-centric delivery to product-oriented data delivery

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$215,000.00 - USD$275,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance. For PR2-Princeton - 1 University Square Drive Only the salary range for this position is USD$195,000.00 - USD$245,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
