Job Summary

This role is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of the Data and Analytic

Foundations group within the IT organization. The Data and Analytics Foundations group, comprised of the

data engineering, data management, and data quality tools teams, enables the organization to obtain insights

from data through data access and data trust. This vital role designs and enforces the processes and protocols

to manage data effectively, driving quality, consistency, and availability of data to support our business

transformation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advance our data foundations strategy to scale the use of data and analytics across the CG, acting as a catalyst for data and analytics to enable the organization to achieve more than otherwise possible

  • Engage with stakeholders to develop deep understanding of our customers, organizational strategy, and priorities, establishing and maintaining a multi-year data foundations roadmap to support the achievement of business objectives

  • Design and implement standardized processes, protocols, roles and responsibilities for efficient and scalable data governance and management

  • Lead and drive master data management, data lineage, data dictionary, and data literacy throughout the organization

  • Provide technical expertise and direction in the design and development of high-volume, high-velocity data engineering solutions and advanced data management capabilities to strengthen data integrity

  • Engage, align, motivate, and inspire the data foundations team to maximize their impact and influence through the delivery of high-quality results

  • Collaborate with data architecture, data science, analytics, and business intelligence colleagues to ensure alignment and execution of shared objectives, including data source integration and platform evolution

  • Directly lead large and medium scale projects to strengthen our data foundations

  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

  • Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

  • Motivate and lead a high performance team by attracting, developing, engaging and retaining team members

  • Drive the performance management and compensation processes by communicating job expectations, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback and facilitating employee development per

  • the company’s policies

  • Maintain transparent communication by appropriately communicating organization information to team through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, appropriate email, IM and regular interpersonal communications

  • Lead and motivate individuals and teams to create a workplace culture that is consistent with the Chamberlain Group mission, vision and values.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or other quantitative field of study

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience, including hands-on experience in data engineering and data management and

  • 5+ years leading teams

  • Extensive experience partnering with stakeholders and working with highly technical developers and analysts, with an ability to earn trust

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization

  • Ability to travel up to 5%

  • Deep understanding and subject matter expertise in data engineering and data management, with an ability to operate at all levels, diving deep where necessary

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud solutions and data modeling

  • Insistence on high standards with a strong desire to transform and improve and a bias for action

  • Ability to travel up to 5%

Preferred Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  • Master’s degree in computer science or other quantitative field of study

Experience:

  • Data management and data engineering experience related to B2C and B2B streaming / near real-time data sources

  • Data management experience with SAP ERP

  • Experience with agile/scrum development methodologies

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Azure platform expertise, including one or more certifications

The pay range for this position is $167,500.00 - $269,875.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
