Job Description:
Provides leadership, staff development and assistance to Library Media Specialist and appropriate administrators by developing, recommending, implementing, and monitoring plans and programs related to the overall library media program. Supervises District Library Media Center (DLMC) staff and oversees operations of the District Library Media Center.
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to all library staff and administrators in implementing dynamic, inclusive, and future-ready library programs, digital literacy, and DCSD's strategic goals. Promote the integration of information literacy, critical thinking, and innovative learning experience, and help librarians with ideas to foster a culture of reading in their libraries.
Develop, implement, and continuously monitor the library curriculum and programming provided to ensure alignment with District standards. Oversee effective use of the district's integrated library system and guide the selection and acquisition of high-quality digital resources and online information tools that the district provides to all schools for student use.
Serve as the content experts on library services, resources, best practices, and policies, providing guidance and presentations to parents, staff, and the community. Lead the design and development of new school library centers and oversee district-wide collections development to ensure high-quality quality equitable resources for all schools for both print and digital resources.
Lead long-range planning for library services, including budget development and monitoring, staffing projections, and resource allocation. Collaborate with vendors to secure cost-effective pricing on library materials, supplies, and contracts to maximize district resources.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Perform and support supervisory responsibility for the DLMC, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, staffing design, professional learning, evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Provide guidance and input on these processes for school-based librarians to ensure consistent, high-quality support across the district.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to District library media staff to ensure exceptional service to schools and educators. Develop, implement, refine, and evaluate standards-aligned library media curriculum that supports student learning and instructional goals.
Serve as a liaison to District stakeholders, community members, and local and state agencies regarding library programs and initiatives. Ensure accountability through effective monitoring and reporting, and establish strategic partnership to enhance the delivery and impact of library services.
Develop and submit grant proposals, manage awarded funds, and maintain accurate documentation to ensure compliance with federal and state reporting requirements.

$84,736.33 USD - $132,789.27 USD Annual
- All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
