Our team oversees the successful movement of products from our vendors to our stores and is self-motivated, passionate, and dedicated.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain Operations, the Director of RFC Operations is responsible for leading all distribution center fulfillment activities across both company managed and 3rd Party operated facilities within a defined Grocery Outlet supply chain region. In this role you will drive culture and be accountable for the overall success of distribution center fulfillment operations, ensuring a productive, safe and positive work environment. You will directly lead a team responsible for the overall management, planning, organizing and execution of day-to-day operations within a scope that includes warehouse operations, last mile transportation, inventory control, facilities and safety and compliance.
This position calls for a dynamic leader who has passion for people, a strong leadership presence, contagious performance management purpose, and deep financial and operational acumen to effectively achieve operational deliverables and drive continuous and measurable business improvements. The role is highly interdependent with other departments, requiring this leader to foster strong relationships across a wide range of people to enable effective execution of their responsibilities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Direct/Lead the operations of the GO company managed RFCs within assigned region. For the 3rd Party sites under regional oversight, you will be expected to hold the 3rd party leadership team accountable to the GO contract service level agreements, operational/financial metrics, and customer service and will be ultimately responsible for the performance of those sites. Monitor all fulfillment activities including inbound appointment scheduling, receiving, shipping, order filling, inventory control and last mile transportation.
- Develop, lead, and implement strategic and tactical objectives in direct alignment with corporate goals and annual operating plan for profitability, and quality customer service initiatives.
- Identify and lead initiatives to improve operating efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Assist Supply Chain corporate leadership team in the preparation of annual budget and forecast, analyze monthly budget variances and take corrective action where necessary or provide commentary based on changing business requirements.
- Develop effective business partnerships with all internal department leaders and corporate staff. Facilitate cross functional activities to meet or exceed established annual operating plans.
- Develop and implement action plans in collaboration with Supply Chain corporate leadership team and corporate safety/risk department to provide safe operating environment for employees and vendors in line with corporate policies.
- Reduce or eliminate shrink by managing inventory and operational quality processes to minimize risk. Direct all inventory and reconciliation processes and be responsible for inventory management.
- Maintain positive Store Independent Operator/GO Store Field Operations, buyer and accounting relationships through timely management and pro-active problem resolution. Lead a culture at the RFCs that strives to continuously improve service to both stores and buyers and monitor same through established KPIs such as store order case fill ratio, store order claim metrics. on-time store delivery and other metrics as established.
- Maintain compliance to all federal, state and local regulations and guidelines including but not limited to; OSHA, COOL, GMP, HAZMAT, HAAPP and the bio-terrorism Act of 2002.
- Oversight of Safety Committee initiatives and all safety programs.
- Assist and support other GO facility leaders as required.

- Direct Grocery Outlet RFC Management team in the efficient and safe operation of fulfillment activities.
- Coach, influence and effectively manage 3rd Party RFC operations to deliver desired outcomes in cost and service.
- Develop and encourage leadership skills and effectiveness of all RFC management staff through mentoring and coaching.
- Collaborate with Human Resource team when necessary, in the design of employee performance development plans.
- Establish and maintain mentorship, cross-training and development culture in facility.
- Establish and maintain a positive work culture that drives accountability and fosters a team & customer-focused mindset.
- Partner with Human Resources team to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained to meet business demands, reinvigorate employee retention initiatives, provide guidance and consultation to managers and supervisors pertaining to employee relations issues, interpretation of company policies and procedures, and compliance to applicable employment laws.
About the Pay:
- Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 annually

About You:
- BA degree in Business or Logistics Management or the equivalent combination of training and experience in a related field. (BA is highly desired).
- Minimum of 8-10 years progressively responsible experience in a related operations management function. Multi-site experience and experience with overseeing 3rd Party operations on top of company managed sites is preferred but not required.
- Experience managing up to 400+ associates across multiple sites and multiple shifts with a heavy inbound and outbound transactions.
- Demonstrated experience in addressing positive employee relations.
- Knowledge of Warehouse safety regulatory standards.
- Demonstrated proficiency with real time Warehouse Management Systems including Labor Management Systems, Voice recognition, Cycle count protocols and Inventory control.
- Broad based business acumen and experience with development of Fiscal Budgets and a thorough understanding of P&L statements.
- Relationship Management - Demonstrated proficiency in customer and vendor relationship management including investigative problem solving, mediation and negotiation techniques.
- Strong Leadership skills including team building, coaching and mentoring for personnel development.
- Bilingual/functional in Spanish is a strong asset, but not required.
