Director, Accounting
This role requires a dynamic individual who can guide a diverse team, maintain clear and consistent communication channels, and foster a unified vision and strategy throughout.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business related field is required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- CPA preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Five to seven years of progressive leadership experience in administrative, technical or clinical operations.
- Experience working in a matrixed environment with many stakeholders and strong governance.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing large teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with ability for building and maintaining team morale.
- Oversee daily accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, payroll accounting, and fixed assets
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, non-po invoices and schedules
- Maintain and manage the monthly close calendar
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies Responds timely and efficiently to internal and external communications both verbally and written through memos or e-mail
- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures
- Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements and automation Lead and mentor accounting staff
- Promote a collaborative and accountable team culture Conduct performance evaluations and support training
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Performs all other duties as assigned
