This individual will work on the Investment Team as a key interface with a large network of institutional investors. The core responsibilities of the role will focus on raising capital for both historic HASI securitization transactions and new senior debt opportunities. The Director will interface with certain capital partners (generally insurance companies, pension funds and banks) on a periodic cadence to understand market dynamics and what opportunities might be a fit. As potential transactions with capital partners advance, the Director will lead execution to closing in collaboration with other members of the Investment Team. The role will require working within a deal team as well as maintaining consistent communication across a large network of institutional investors. The Director will report to the Managing Director - Capital Partnerships.

Salary Range

Expected salary range of $190,000-$240,000, based on level, experience and location. In addition, HASI offers an annual bonus program; 401(k) with company match; an equity incentive program; comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits; paid time off for vacation, holidays, and sick days; and much more.

Responsibilities

Capital Partners Relationship Activities

Build, manage, and strengthen long-term investor relationships through proactive outreach with a focus on insurance companies, pension funds and banks.

Establish a consistent communication cadence to ensure up to date information on investor appetites and areas of focus.

Preview and pitch transaction opportunities for institutional investors, including preparation of financial models, marketing materials, investor presentations, and communications, to participate in both individually and as part of a club.

Propose and negotiate potential Separately Managed Accounts or other committed capital arrangements with institutional investors.

Investment Team Coordination Activities

Become knowledgeable in all of HASI's various asset classes and collaborate with other Investment Team members to understand what products could be available for investment by institutional investors.

Provide a feedback loop between the HASI Investment Team and institutional investors as to what types of transactions may be available from HASI and what types of transactions may be of interest to the institutional investors.

Lead transaction closing with institutional investors and ensure effective communication and learnings to apply to future transactions.

Specific Recommended Knowledge and Skills

Proven experience in asset based lending, structured finance, and/or securitization markets with a clear understanding of institutional investor preferences and common market structures.

Experience managing and growing sophisticated investor relationships, particularly in institutional and alternative asset management.

Process oriented with ability to develop goal-oriented tasks and drive a project forward as a transaction and relationship lead.

Ability to keep track of multiple tasks and workstreams with high attention to detail and clear sense of responsibilities within a team dynamic.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Dependable and reliable, excellent at taking initiative and being productive without supervision, and being a supportive team member.

Familiarity with energy infrastructure, energy service companies, and/or climate investing preferred.

Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution; MBA or CFA preferred.

At least 10 years of experience in asset-based lending, structured finance and/or securitization
