Your Role at impact.com:

We're seeking a strategic, hands-on Social Media Director to lead and expand our global social media presence. This role is a true player/coach: you'll set the strategy, create and ship content, and lead a growing team of social media professionals based in Cape Town.

You'll be responsible for end-to-end social strategy across channels-brand, product, executive, and campaign-driven-while building scalable systems, strong creative standards, and clear performance metrics. This is a high-visibility role that partners closely with Brand, Content, Product Marketing, Comms, and Demand.

What You'll Do:

Strategy & Leadership

  • Own the global social media strategy aligned to brand, business, and go-to-market priorities
  • Act as a player/coach-setting direction while remaining hands-on in execution
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3 (with room to grow) based in Cape Town
  • Establish clear workflows, roles, and standards across regions and time zones
  • Translate company narratives into compelling social-first storytelling

Content & Execution

  • Oversee and contribute to daily content creation across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging platforms
  • Manage content calendars, campaign launches, and real-time moments
  • Ensure brand consistency, tone, and visual quality across all channels
  • Partner with internal teams to support product launches, events, executive thought leadership, and cultural moments
  • Balance always-on content with high-impact campaigns

Performance & Optimization

  • Define KPIs and success metrics across awareness, engagement, and influence
  • Analyze performance and turn insights into action-testing, learning, and iterating
  • Report on results to marketing leadership with clear recommendations
  • Stay ahead of platform changes, trends, and best practices

Collaboration & Influence

  • Partner closely with Brand, Comms, Content, Product Marketing, Demand, and Regional Marketing teams
  • Support executive social presence and thought leadership programs
  • Act as a trusted advisor on social media trends, risks, and opportunities

What You Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in social media or digital marketing, ideally in B2B
  • Proven experience owning global social strategy-not just execution
  • Prior people management experience; comfortable leading distributed teams
  • Strong content instincts with a portfolio that demonstrates strategic thinking and creative execution
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to guide decisions
  • Deep understanding of major social platforms and how brands win on each
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Clear communicator who can influence across levels and functions

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing global or offshore teams
  • Experience supporting executive or founder-led social presence
  • Familiarity with social listening, publishing, and analytics tools
  • Background in partnerships, commerce, or B2B ecosystems

Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year, plus an additional 5% variable annual bonus contingent on Company performance and eligible to receive a Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant.
