Job Description
What will you be doing?
As the Government Relations Director at InMobi Group, you will be the company's key interface with government stakeholders in Karnataka. Your role will ensure smooth coordination with government departments, regulators, and local and municipal authorities to support business operations, resolve practical issues, and navigate regulatory requirements. By leveraging your network, deep relationships and understanding of Bengaluru's policy ecosystem, you will help InMobi maintain a business-friendly environment and achieve operational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as InMobi's primary liaison with Karnataka state departments and central government ministries to facilitate approvals, clearances, and regulatory processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government departments, including IT/BT, Home, Industries & Commerce, Law, Urban Development, Electronics & IT, and emerging digital governance bodies.
- Coordinate with local municipal and state authorities to resolve operational challenges and ensure smooth execution of business initiatives.
- Monitor, assess, and communicate state-level and municipal developments, including urban, digital, and innovation initiatives, that may impact business operations.
- Collaborate with Karnataka chapters of industry associations, think tanks, and policy forums to ensure alignment with regulatory and operational requirements.
- Provide practical solutions for regulatory and compliance challenges affecting adtech, content, AI, and e-commerce operations.
- Track and analyze competition, trade policy, and regulatory developments, offering actionable insights to the SVP, Public Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in Bengaluru or Karnataka in a government-facing role within business, industry associations, think tanks, or regulatory bodies.
- Hands-on experience coordinating approvals, clearances, and compliance with state or municipal regulations.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory or technical issues into actionable solutions for business operations.
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating with national and global teams.
- Proficiency in Kannada is an advantage.
Essential Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, Economics, Technology Policy, or related fields.
- 15+ years of experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or public policy, with demonstrated exposure to Karnataka state government or Bengaluru-based institutions.
