Interface is looking for a Director of Accounting & Consolidations who loves leading people but also enjoys rolling up their sleeves and getting the work done. Your corporate accounting team will be responsible for the corporate close process, consolidations, audits and technical accounting support for our global business.

If you also have some financial system implementation experience, that won't hurt either.

Essentials Functions:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of our financial reporting process, general ledger structure, and organizational objectives.

  • Own the global consolidation process for a multi-national organization, including system ownership and administration.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls over corporate accounting and consolidation processes to reduce the risks of error or fraud.

  • Ensure all GL accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and reconciling items addressed as necessary.

  • Oversee the accounting and reporting for the Company's Long-term Incentive Plans.

  • Ensure timely and accurate period financial close including the production of internal and external financial statements including producing a comprehensive reporting package which reconciles GAAP and Adjusted management reporting.

  • Work with the financial reporting team to develop application of existing GAAP and adoption of current and future accounting standard changes by interfacing with required departments to ascertain underlying data to document and support accounting treatment consistent with accounting guidance.

  • Support the corporate audit process and external filing process. Become subject matter expert on the company's processes for accounting for the key balance sheet areas.

  • Partner with Corporate Controller, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Human Resources and Benefit as well as international accounting and finance teams to ensure mutual deliverables and requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Develop strong relationships with IT to ensure appropriate controls over reporting are documented and followed and the reporting system is acting as intended.

  • Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine accounting transactions.

  • Respond to inquiries from senior management regarding financial results and special reporting requests.

  • Ability to lead and manage projects, primarily system enhancements to the company's consolidation tools including leading the Company's Change Management Board which manages system implementations and enhancements.

  • Oversee Corporate Accounts Payable process in tandem shared service team in LaGrange.

  • Perform other tasks as required.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree required

  • 12+ years of experience with a combination of public accounting and corporate accounting

  • Complex consolidation background required

  • Knowledge of system administrator skillset for consolidation tools (One Stream or HFM preferred)

  • Proficiency in US GAAP required

  • CPA with demonstrated success at required areas

  • Experience thriving in globally matrixed environment, demonstrating collaboration at the heart of how you work

  • Ability to get your message across effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Love for and experience with solving problems and helping the business to run at its best

  • Have a continuous improvement and process improvement mindset by looking to improve existing processes

  • JDE experience preferred

  • Experience navigating and connecting the dots within a globally matrixed organization
