The Director of Enterprise Architecture & Technology Strategy is responsible for defining and governing the organization's technology vision, architecture standards, and long-term strategic roadmap. This leader ensures alignment between business objectives and technology investments, driving innovation, modernization, and operational excellence across the enterprise.

This role bridges executive leadership, business units, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions that enable growth and competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Architecture Leadership

  • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture framework (business, application, data, and infrastructure domains)
  • Establish architecture standards, reference architecture, and governance processes
  • Lead architecture review boards and ensure compliance across initiatives
  • Drive simplification, standardization, and technical debt reduction

Technology Strategy & Road mapping

  • Develop and execute a multi-year technology strategy aligned to business goals
  • Translate business priorities into actionable architecture and investment plans
  • Identify emerging technologies and assess their business impact
  • Lead modernization initiatives (cloud, data platforms, AI, security, etc.)

Business Alignment & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with executive leadership (CIO, CTO, CISO, business leaders) to shape strategy
  • Act as a trusted advisor on technology investments and trade-offs
  • Ensure architecture supports customer experience, revenue growth, and operational efficiency

Vendor & Ecosystem Strategy

  • Evaluate and rationalize technology vendors and platforms
  • Drive strategic partnerships with key providers (e.g., cloud, security, SaaS)
  • Avoid vendor sprawl and optimize total cost of ownership

Team Leadership & Operating Model

  • Build and lead a high-performing enterprise architecture team
  • Define roles, skills, and career paths for architects
  • Establish federated or centralized EA operating models as appropriate
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
