Job Description
About LEAP Advisory
LEAP Advisory provides fractional accounting and finance leadership to growing businesses. We work alongside owners and leadership teams to strengthen reporting, improve processes, solve financial challenges, and turn sound accounting into useful business insight.
The opportunity
We are actively looking for an experienced accounting and advisory professional to lead client relationships and provide senior accounting and financial guidance across a diverse portfolio of businesses. This fully remote position is well-suited to a CPA or CMA who brings both public accounting and industry experience, enjoys solving unfamiliar problems, and wants to build lasting relationships with business leaders. Candidates located in Tulsa, Oklahoma or Northwest Arkansas are preferred.
At LEAP, Directors take ownership of their client engagements, balancing strategic advisory responsibilities with hands-on accounting and financial management. Directors collaborate with our centralized senior accounting team, leveraging shared resources while maintaining responsibility for project execution, deliverable quality, and client deadlines.
You may have started in audit or advisory and later served as a Controller, Accounting Director, Finance Director, or similar industry leader. You are equally comfortable working through the details of a monthly financial close, resolving a complex accounting issue, or helping an executive understand what the numbers mean.
What you will do
- Own client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and leadership teams.
- Lead client engagements from planning through execution, taking responsibility for project deliverables, timelines, and overall client satisfaction.
- Partner with LEAP's centralized senior accounting team to coordinate, delegate, and review accounting work, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of deliverables.
- Perform hands-on accounting and financial analysis as needed, including complex reconciliations, financial reporting, technical accounting matters, and special projects.
- Oversee monthly close processes, financial reporting, and accounting operations across assigned client engagements.
- Analyze financial results and guide clients through budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and strategic financial decisions.
- Evaluate accounting processes, systems, and internal controls; identify risks and implement practical improvements.
- Support audit readiness, GAAP reporting, business transitions, integrations, and other complex accounting initiatives.
- Develop new relationships and recognize opportunities to expand support as client needs evolve.
What we're looking for
Required
- Active CPA or CMA designation and a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Progressive accounting or finance experience with strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, close processes, and controls.
- Experience advising senior leaders and leading or developing accounting professionals.
- Proficiency in managing multiple client priorities and explaining complex financial matters clearly and practically.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote role and travel occasionally within LEAP's service areas to meet client needs.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic financial advisory responsibilities with hands-on accounting execution while coordinating and reviewing the work of supporting accounting professionals.
Highly preferred
- Experience in both public accounting (particularly audit or advisory) and a senior accounting or finance role within industry.
- Experience with multi-entity organizations, budgeting and forecasting, internal audit or SOX compliance, M&A integration, system implementations, and process improvements.
- Exposure to multiple industries and organizations of different sizes and levels of complexity.
- Based in or near Tulsa, Oklahoma, or Northwest Arkansas with availability for occasional in-person client meetings.
Why LEAP
LEAP gives experienced professionals the opportunity to combine meaningful client relationships, strategic advisory work, and hands-on financial leadership. Our collaborative model gives Directors access to experienced accounting professionals and centralized operational resources while allowing them to maintain ownership of their client engagements. This structure offers flexibility to focus on high-value advisory work while remaining actively involved in the accounting and financial operations that drive client success.
