We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director, Software Product Management to lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our software products within the warehouse execution and logistics domain. This role partners closely with engineering, sales, customer support, and executive leadership to ensure products are aligned with real-world industry needs and drive meaningful business outcomes.
This is a senior leadership role that requires deep industry and domain understanding. While not an individual contributor position, success depends on the ability to actively guide product decisions, evaluate priorities, and provide credible direction based on knowledge of warehouse operations and execution systems.
Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Vision
- Lead the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for the company's software products.
- Define and communicate a clear product vision aligned with business objectives and market needs.
- Set product priorities and goals across short- and long-term planning horizons.
- Serve as the primary decision-maker for product trade-offs and roadmap sequencing.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, sales, customer support, and UX teams to deliver products that meet customer and market expectations.
- Act as a credible product leader in discussions with internal stakeholders and customers, clearly articulating product capabilities and direction.
- Lead and mentor a team of product managers, providing guidance on prioritization, feature definition, and roadmap execution.
- Champion the voice of the customer with a strong understanding of industry workflows and operational realities.
- Product Development & Execution
- Oversee the product lifecycle from ideation through delivery and iteration.
- Guide prioritization decisions based on customer demand, business value, and market relevance.
- Ensure alignment between product intent and delivered outcomes by actively reviewing and challenging proposed solutions.
- Support risk identification and mitigation across market, product, and execution considerations.
Note: This role does not function as an individual contributor writing epics or user stories, but requires sufficient domain knowledge to effectively guide those creating them.
- Market Analysis & Customer Insights
- Leverage customer feedback, market input, and competitive insights to inform product direction.
- Ensure product decisions are grounded in real customer use cases within warehouse environments.
- Track product performance and outcomes to ensure alignment with user needs and business goals.
- Product Lifecycle & Roadmap Ownership
- Own the product roadmap and long-term product direction.
- Lead quarterly and annual planning, including roadmap reviews and investment discussions with executive leadership.
- Partner with leadership to secure alignment and funding for product initiatives.
- Oversee product launches and support go-to-market readiness in collaboration with sales and marketing teams.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, develop, and grow a high-performing team of product managers.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and informed decision-making.
- Provide mentorship and direction while enabling product managers to execute effectively.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Direct experience in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, or execution-layer systems (e.g., WMS, WES, WCS, or related technologies).
- Proven ability to lead product strategy and roadmap decisions informed by domain and market knowledge.
- Strong understanding of software development processes and agile product environments.
- Experience managing and mentoring product management teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Other Qualifications Desired
- Experience with enterprise B2B software products.
- Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Aha!, Trello).
- Understanding of data-informed product decision-making.
- Experience presenting product strategy and roadmaps to executive leadership.
