The Director of Government Affairs & Public Policy is a senior, strategy-oriented leader responsible for building, structuring and operating Safelite's Government Affairs and Public Policy function in close partnership with the EVP, General Counsel and SVP of Government Affairs and Public Policy.

Key responsibilities include managing political programs such as the PAC, organizing and planning an annual summit and monitoring, tracking and forecasting legislative developments. • Translate complex policy developments into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership and internal stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal officials, external lobbyists, trade associations, industry coalitions and policy advisors.

  • Serve as a central point of coordination between Safelite leaders and external advocacy partners to ensure consistency of message and priorities.

  • Represent the company in Ohio and other jurisdictions as needed (e.g. industry forums, coalition meetings).

  • Support national and multi-state engagement efforts through planning, preparation and follow through rather than in person advocacy.

Government Affairs and Public Policy Function & Program Management

  • Design and oversee political program infrastructure, including grassroots engagement and bill tracking systems.

  • Develop and manage PAC and corporate political giving strategies, including compliance with campaign finance laws, recommending and managing PAC board members, and training and education on responsibilities.

  • Establish disciplined processes for approvals, controls, documentation and internal visibility across function activities.

Reporting, Compliance & Executive Enablement

  • Prepare executive briefings, dashboards and reports for leadership summarizing legislative activity, emerging risks, and strategic implications.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including registrations and filings, disclosures and recordkeeping.

  • Track legislative trends and provide timely updates requiring leadership attention or business action to internal stakeholders

  • Define internal governance frameworks for government affairs activity, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment with enterprise risk management

What you will need
