Kikoff is hiring a Director, Legal – Product & Regulatory to serve as a strategic legal partner across product, engineering, and business teams. This role sits at the intersection of fintech innovation and regulation, guiding the development and scaling of consumer financial products within a complex and evolving legal landscape.

In this role, you will advise across Kikoff’s expanding product ecosystem, including credit-building solutions, earned wage access offerings, secured credit cards, and new product initiatives. You will partner closely with product and engineering teams from concept through launch, shaping product design, structure, and go-to-market strategy while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks.

You will provide guidance on federal and state consumer financial laws, including TILA, ECOA, FCRA, EFTA, and UDAAP, as well as emerging regulatory considerations around earned wage access and similar products. The role also includes advising on marketing compliance, consumer disclosures, and communications under applicable laws such as TCPA and CAN-SPAM.

A key component of the role involves supporting both bank-partnered and direct-to-consumer product structures, including negotiating partner bank and vendor agreements and advising on regulatory and operational considerations. You will also guide data privacy and consumer data protection efforts, including compliance with frameworks such as CCPA/CPRA and GLBA.

Beyond product counseling, you will monitor regulatory developments from agencies such as the CFPB and state regulators, translating changes into actionable guidance for the business. You will collaborate cross-functionally with compliance, risk, marketing, and operations teams to embed legal guardrails that enable speed without compromising integrity.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in consumer financial services law, strong product counseling capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. You are a pragmatic advisor who balances legal risk with business outcomes and can communicate complex regulatory concepts clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
