Position Title

Director, Information Technology Integration

Position Summary / Career Interest:

The Director, Information Technology Integration is responsible for leading all technical integration activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, ambulatory expansion, and strategic growth initiatives across the health system. This position serves as the technical leader responsible for technology due diligence, stabilization efforts, infrastructure assessments, enterprise architecture alignment, cybersecurity integration, technical planning, and execution of enterprise technology integrations. The Director works collaboratively with operational IT leaders and architecture groups to coordinate matrixed technical resources while ensuring acquired organizations are integrated into enterprise technology standards safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to clinical operations.

This leader is accountable for developing repeatable integration methodologies, technical playbooks, governance processes, and automation strategies that accelerate technology integration while reducing organizational risk in addition this role works in close partnership with Application Integration leadership to ensure technical and application integration activities are coordinated, sequenced appropriately, and transitioned into enterprise operational support models.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop the long-term strategy for enterprise technology integration.
  • Establish repeatable technical integration methodologies.
  • Develop enterprise integration playbooks.
  • Standardize technology integration across all acquisitions.
  • Align technology integration strategy with organizational growth initiatives
  • Present integrations status to CIO, CTO and executive level committee(s)
  • Develop executive level dashboards
  • Communicate risk and barriers to technical executive leadership.
  • Responsible for establishing a technical integration and stabilization budget.
  • Partner with Application Integration leadership to coordinate enterprise application transition activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, and expansion initiatives.
  • Technical Due Diligence:
  • Lead technical due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Assess infrastructure maturity.
  • Evaluate cybersecurity posture.
  • Assess application portfolios.
  • Identify technical debt.
  • Estimate integration costs.
  • Develop executive risk assessments.
  • Participate in acquisition planning
  • Collaborate with Application Integration leaders during application portfolio assessments to identify infrastructure, hosting, integration, cybersecurity, identity, network, and architecture dependencies that may impact technology integration planning.
  • Enterprise Architecture Alignment:
  • Ensure all acquisitions align with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture.
  • Develop future-state technical architectures.
  • Coordinate technology standardization.
  • Integration Planning:
  • Develop technical integration roadmaps.
  • Coordinate Day One readiness.
  • Develop migration strategies.
  • Lead technical planning workshops.
  • Develop resource plans.
  • Partner with Application Integration teams to ensure technical workstreams are aligned with application onboarding, migration, transition, and operational readiness activities.
  • Matrix Leadership:
  • Coordinate matrixed technical teams across the following:
  • o Infrastructure
  • o Networking
  • o Cybersecurity
  • o End User Computing
  • o Cloud Services
  • o Enterprise Applications
  • o Clinical Engineering
  • o Telecommunications
  • o Identity & Access Management
  • Collaborate with Application Integration leadership and operational support teams to coordinate technical deliverables required for successful application transition and stabilization.
  • Technology Governance:
  • Establish integration standards.
  • Chair technical integration review boards.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture.
  • Coordinate change management.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Sciences, Business, Healthcare, or related field
  • 10 or more years of Information Technology or relevant experience, including 7+ years of management or leadership experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Masters Business Administration in Computer Sciences, Business, Healthcare, or related field
